1. Continue to build the SWM MO Reader's Incentive Program by talking to ALL Communication Arts classes at the beginning of the school year and reminding students and teachers of the incentives and have more recognition of students reading the books visual in the library.
2. Encourage more collaborative work in 8th grade, especially through Social Studies. Only three teachers worked with me collaboratively this school year. Many of the teachers have laptops and only research using the internet.
3. Every other month have a programing activity in the library for students and/or staff.
4. Sponsor with Lit. Coach, Susan Doering, a parent reading night.
5. Update blog weekly.
6. Purchase a TV to mount above circulation desk to play incentive, promotions, pictures, etc.
Professional Development Goals:
I will continue to build the new library curriculum by creating two units/lessons in UbD for the OCG while working collaboratively with SWM faculty and Parkway Librarians. Assessment is the focus of the Parkway Librarians during the 2010-11 school year. We will be reading Assessing Learning by Violet H. Harada and Joan M. Yoshina and discussing ways to integrate assessment in our daily work with students. I will use two of the assessment ideas from our book
I am seriouly considering persuing National Board Certification in 2010-11, this is a huge 2 year commitment. The Lesson Study and Assessment work will easily be integrated into the work I would need to do for NBC.
